LIPOLITE

Definition: LipoLite is often a complement to treatments such as traditional liposuction or other body contouring procedures, because LipoLite can treat smaller problem areas that traditional liposuction can’t. It is a minimally invasive system designed to destroy fat cells and coagulate tissue on the body and the face. It is ideal for under the chin and upper arms. How it Works
LipoLite causes fat cells to break apart and be eliminated by the body through non-selective heating of the adipose (fat) tissue. The 1064nm Nd:YAG laser energy is delivered via an optical fiber inserted through a tiny incision to the treatment site. The thermal energy provided has the added advantage of tissue tightening with simultaneous photo-stimulation of skin collagen. [2]

Two destructive mechanisms happen in Laser LipoSculpture (laser-assisted lipolysis):
Photomechanical destruction: LipoLite’s ability to deliver short pulses of <150 µsec. with low pulse energy of <250 mJ can overcome tissue resistance in areas of high fibrosis. [2]
Photothermal destruction: The ability of LipoLite to deliver long pulses of >750 µsec. with high pulse energy of up to 800 mJ can enhance the thermal destruction of the fat cell membrane. [2]

LipoLite can treat tissue up to 20 millimeters deep. [2] Heat delivery and accuracy are monitored by the machine and the main advantage LipoLite has over liposuction is that it does not seem to involve any incisions. Put simply, LipoLite delivers thermal energy into the fat tissue to break it down. This ideally results in slimmer arms, legs and thighs, ect. LipoLite is only attainable by licensed physicians. [3]

Due to the coagulation properties of Nd:YAG lasers, there is less bruising or bleeding as compared to traditional liposuction for faster recovery. There is very little bleeding because the laser coagulates any blood vessels. [4]

Who is LipoLite Good For?
Most convenient weight loss solutions these days involve a supplement of some sort. However, LipoLite treatments may be practical for some dieters who do not wish to take any pills. Advantages Compared with Liposuction
Traditional suction-assisted lipoplasty (liposuction) is the most common plastic surgery procedure performed in the United States for both men and women, with a total of 456,828 cases in 2007.  In spite of various improvements and safety measures, the procedure still carries associated discomfort for both patients and surgeons accompanied by a prolonged recovery. Due to the nature of the technique, it involves vigorous manual operation, considerable swelling and hemorrhaging (bleeding), post-operative pain and patient downtime.
